Awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Business in 1985, the Rutgers University graduate distinguished himself in the oversight of two major corporations before joining F&S Produce Company in 2008.
Charles served as Director of Operations for Zebra Pen Company. Under his leadership, the firm achieved $250 million in North American sales. He coordinated production and distribution to every major retailer in the world. He presided over the transfer of manufacturing and distribution functions from New Jersey to Texas, thereby reducing expenses by $1 million during the first year of his tenure alone. He sourced, developed, and implemented an innovative ERP software solution to significantly reduce payroll administration costs. In addition, he implemented quality programs and policies that resulted in the highest performance measurements recorded in the company’s history, from leading outlets such as Sam’s Club, Wal-Mart, Costco, BJ’s Wholesale, Lowes, Home Depot, and Kmart.
Charles also served as General Manager of RJR Nabisco Brands, responsible for the overall management of daily production and distribution operations. He was instrumental in creating a computerized finished goods inventory control system to maintain the manufacturer’s $100 million inventory. He oversaw the purchase of raw materials and packaging to facilitate the company’s daily operations. Focused on production and distribution completion schedules, he sourced, selected, and negotiated vendor pricing and contracts. He also implemented and directed a Total Quality Management concept throughout the company.
As F&S Produce General Manager, he is responsible for the procurement of all raw materials and management of every aspect of the Rosenhayn, New Jersey, company’s operations. He regulates inventories to ensure minimum product loss and its maximum movement. Of special importance to the fresh-cut fruits and vegetables producer is its compliance with food safety and quality assurance standards, for which Charles is ultimately responsible.
Fluent in German and Spanish, he lives in Medford Lakes, New Jersey, and is the Vice-President, Board of Directors, for the local YMCA Financial Development and Board Development committees.
