Fontaine
Regional Sales Manager
A 1993 graduate of Fort Lewis College of Durango, Colorado, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business – Barbara Fontaine serves F&S Produce as its Regional Sales Manager. Previous to joining the company in 2008, she was President and Consultant for Strategic Resource, New York, specializing in regional distribution analysis and implementation, logistics and strategic management, and business development.
Of special relevance to her position at F&S Produce, Barbara was instrumental in the establishment of a regional consolidation site for the world’s largest fresh berry supplier.
From 2002-04, she was Senior Manager, Sales and Operations Forward Distribution, for Earthbound Farms of New Jersey, responsible for logistics and supply chain management as well as regional retail, food service, wholesale, and terminal market sales management. While there, she initiated and managed two forward distribution facilities. From 2000-02, she served as Retail Sales Manager for Earthbound Farm’s California operation, working on the Trader Jo’s, Ahold PPO, Wild Oats Markets, Super Target accounts, among others. From 1999-2000, Barbara was Export Sales Manager for Mann Packing Company – also of California. Under her international sales management, the company became the third largest exporter of strawberries to Southeast Asia.
Barbara’s first career position was as International Sales Representative of California’s Misionero Vegetables company. During her tenure, the producer became the largest exporter of iceberg lettuce to the UK. She also helped to establish Misionero as the second-highest quality brand in the Southeast Asian market.
Barbara resides in Warwick, New York, with her husband Gregory. The Arvada, Colorado native enjoys skiing, cycling, running, swimming, and backpacking.
